Franke Tobey Jones, a non-profit retirement community for active retirees, serves the Tacoma/Puget Sound, Washington area and is home to 200 residents on its 20-acre campus. The community wanted to enhance after-hours alarm notification and escalation, as well as expand reporting to ensure accountability and improve response times. After researching numerous technologies, Franke Tobey Jones decided to implement SARA to serve as a reliable nurse call system, including enhanced location data so residents with mobile duress pendants can be reached more quickly when they request help.
We’re very pleased with SARA because it has enabled us to reach our intended goal of safety and comfort for our residents. And while other vendors wanted to take a ‘rip-and-replace’ approach, Status Solutions was able to leverage our legacy systems.” – Myrna Frasier, Facilities Director
SARA powers Franke Tobey Jones’ nurse call system, including escalating notifications. The community also integrated SARA with its WanderGuard system to enhance security for residents in health and memory care. Additionally, Franke Tobey Jones uses SARA for an unprecedented level of environmental monitoring via wireless sensors on its natural gas lines, boilers, generators and refrigerators to prevent tampering as well as notify maintenance of any issue that could cause service disruptions. For example, when pilot lights on the water and heating boilers went out, SARA alerted maintenance so they could be relit quickly. “Because SARA notified us when there was an issue with a boiler, we were able to address it before our residents were inconvenienced,” says Frasier.
